2026-2027 PEA NEA RA Delegate & PEA Executive Board

 

  • February 12: Announcement of Vacancies
  • March 5: Deadline to file a declaration of candidacy Form no later than 5 PM. (Link to be distributed by PEA via The Focus  on Feb. 12th and on PEA website)
  • March 7: Deadline to acknowledge candidacy, distribute elections guidelines/rules for campaigning.
  • March 10: Deadline to request a paper ballot.
  • March 10-14: Preparation of campaign statements, ballots, and voter rosters/sign-in sheets.
  • March 14: Deadline to inform PEA if candidate or designee will be observing.
  • March 17: Distribution of paper ballots, if necessary. Distribution of Voter Credentials (usernames & passwords).
  • 8 AM, March 17, to 5 PM, March 26 Electronic Voting via Simply Voting. Voting at individual work sites, if necessary.
  • March 26: Ballots and voter rosters due, if necessary.
  • March 26: Ballot counting
  • March 26: Results to leadership and candidates
  • March 27: Results to members (send teller’s report) and announcement if a run-off is needed.
  • April 7: Challenge deadline for the election unless there is a run-off.
  • 8 AM, April 9, to 5 PM, April 15: Run-off election, if necessary
  • April 15: Ballot counting for run-off, if necessary
  • April 15: Results of run-off to leadership and candidates, if necessary
  • April 16: Results of run-off to members (send teller’s report), if necessary

NEA RA 2026

  • Pittsburg Education Association is allotted 4 local local delegates.
  • PEA will NOT fund local delegates to attend the NEA RA for the 2026 July NEA RA. Delegates must self fund.

2025-2026 STATE NEA RA Delegate

 

  • Declaration of Candidacy Forms are available online at cta.org/neara-declaration beginning January 6, 2025.
  • Strict adherence to the election timelines is required, including the following key dates.
  • January 31, 2025 - Deadline for State Delegate Declaration of Candidacy forms.
  • March 10, 2025 - Deadline for finalizing NEA RA local delegate elections.
  • April 7, 2025 - Deadline for delegates elected to both state and local positions to notify CTA of their final selection.
  • April 10, 2025 - Deadline to submit local delegate election results to CTA.

 

  • Pittsburg Education is allotted 4 local local delegates.
  • PEA will fund 2 of the four local delegates at the CTA rate to attend the NEA RA for the 2024 July NEA RA. This information is only applicable for the 2024-2025 school-year.  The other delegates must self fund or give their seat to the successor. See standing rules, or document below with specifics  (policies and procedures)

Local NEA RA Delegate Information

  • Pittsburg Education is allotted 4 local local delegates.
  •  PEA will fund 4 (FOUR)  of the four local delegates up to $2,500 each to attend the NEA RA for the 2024 July NEA RA. This information is only applicable for the 2023-2024 school-year.  The other delegates must self fund or give their seat to the successor. See standing rules, or document below with specifics  (policies and procedures)

  1. Nominations close February 16, 2024
  2. Bios need to be submitted to Nyssa by the 21st at 5PM:  ton100@mail.chapman.edu 
  3. Elections open the 26th at 8AM and close March 1st at 5PM
  4. Results will be published via Constant Contact March 4, 2024
